During his speech at the 27th annual Congress of the Mexican Association of Shipping Agents (AMANAC), Iker Allison, Marketing VP at SSA Mexico, pointed out that many of the objectives shared between port terminals are to provide efficient and fast service to their customers, with high standards of productivity, mobility and discharge times, challenges that SSA Mexico has faced by increasing its investments in cutting-edge technology. In the "Productivity and improvement in terminals in the port sector" panel, Allison pointed out that SSA Mexico's priority is to renew and expand both the infrastructure and the equipment of its 7 terminals located in 6 of the main ports in Mexico. The Marketing VP presented the recent investments for 2023 in the SSA Mexico terminals, which will total 22.5 million dollars, highlighting the operation of two new Liebherr cranes in the Ocupa terminal, a Carrix subsidiary, which are already in operation and will increase the productivity of cargo movement by 35%. SSA Mexico's strategic investments considered for 2024 amount to 32 million dollars, among which, the purchase of two STS Super Post-Panamax cranes of 67 m high and 65 m reach (24 containers) for the Manzanillo Specialized Container Terminal I, and the 4-hectare expansion of the Specialized Automobile Terminal (TEA), which will increase the storage and custody capacity of 2,210 automobiles in the port of Lazaro Cardenas, stands out.
