By investing more than $16.5 million in specialized cargo handling equipment, OCUPA reaffirms its commitment to provide quality and efficient service to its clients. Today the multipurpose port terminal celebrated the arrival of 2 new state-of-the-art Liebherr LHM800 cranes, with a lifting capacity of more than 100 tons to handle general cargo, project cargo and containers. They are the most far-reaching ones of this kind in the country, with a width of up to 22 rows of containers. With this new equipment, which will start operating during the second week of August, the installed capacity in the OCUPA’s docks will increase by 40%, and the loading and discharge operational productivity will increase by 35%, reducing the stay-time of vessels in the port of Manzanillo. In addition, in accordance with the strategic investment and growth plan, by 2024, 4 dual RTG cranes will be received. This will be done through an investment of more than $8 million dollars to keep improving the capacity and productivity of the provided services. With projected continuous growth, OCUPA reaffirms SSA Mexico's leadership in the national port system.
