SSA Marine Mexico to Operate New Multi-Use Terminal at the Port of Guaymas

On October 15, we had the honor of signing, alongside Vice Admiral Ernesto Bañares Rosete, head of Guaymas’ Port Authority, the partial rights transfer agreement that will allow SSA Marine Mexico to operate a new Multi-Use Terminal (TUM) at the Port of Guaymas, Sonora. This new terminal, located in the northern section of the port, represents a strategic opportunity to expand our operations. It will cover a total land area of 106,439.689 square meters, designated for handling general cargo, containerized goods, and automobiles. In its first phase, we will develop 24,249.584 m² for Dock T1, which will measure 329 meters in length, 40 meters in width, and 16 meters in depth—ideal for accommodating deep-draft vessels. This stage also includes a 44,236.105 m² container yard, equipped with a refrigerated chamber and a consolidation dock, enhancing our operational capacity. The concession, granted through a public tender under the Port Development Master Plan 2022–2027, is valid for 18 years with the possibility of extension. We are currently preparing for the start of operations, including the installation of two container cranes with capacity equal to or greater than Post Panamax class. This will raise Guaymas to new standards of port competitiveness. At SSA Marine Mexico, we are proud to continue contributing to the country’s logistics growth. Our vision is clear: to remain at the forefront of national port development, driving modern, efficient, and sustainable infrastructure that connects Mexico to the world.
